At Ignite Therapy Services, we believe that every child deserves a voice. Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) includes a wide range of tools and strategies that support or replace spoken communication. AAC can be as simple as using gestures, pictures, or communication boards, or as advanced as speech-generating devices and iPad-based apps. Our therapists are trained to assess each child’s unique needs and match them with the right AAC system to help them share their wants, needs, ideas, and feelings. With the right support, AAC can open new doors for connection, participation, and confidence in everyday life.

At Ignite Therapy Services, our team is trained in a wide range of Augmentative and Alternative Communication systems, from simple picture supports to advanced speech-generating devices. For some children, communication may start with picture cards, communication boards, or visual schedules. Others may benefit from mid-tech tools such as GoTalk devices or single-message buttons that allow them to participate in routines and express their needs.

We are also highly experienced with high-tech AAC systems, including iPad-based apps like LAMP Words for Life, TouchChat, Unity, and Proloquo2Go, as well as dedicated devices such as NovaChat and Accent. By matching the right tools to each child’s strengths and needs, we help them develop a reliable way to communicate and connect with others.
